Climate Fair Event

Monday, August 5 at 8:00-9:15pm on Zoom
Monte Pearson and Marya Axner will give a presentation about the organization that governs our electric grid: The Independent Systems Operator of New England (ISO NE)
Why would anyone be interested in this? Because this organization, ISO NE, makes decisions about all the electricity that comes into our homes and businesses etc. Its decisions determine how fast we will transition to renewables and away from fossil fuels. Its decisions also influence how much we pay for electricity. How fast will we bring solar and wind energy into our grid? Find out. Learn more about the TBB Climateers here.

Tisha b'Av

Monday, August 12
7:00 PM Song of the Heart in the tent (weather permitting), in person only—  see a description here.
8:00 PM Evening services including chanting of Eicha (the book of Lamentations) in Nissenbaum Hall, Zoom option available

Tisha B'Av, the day of communal mourning that commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Temples and other disasters in Jewish history, begins at sundown on August 12.
Tradition holds that as we grieve destruction, we must also grapple with the internal divisions and senseless hatred within our communities that can pave the way for loss.
We will be using music as a way to come together at this difficult time by holding a Song of the Heart gathering before our Tisha B'Av evening service.

Please join us for whatever parts of the evening resonate with you--we welcome participation in one or both of these observances.
